Happy Mother's Day Scrapbook Layout

Hi, crafty friends!! I am back with another layout using the Dear Lizzy 5th & Frolic collection...slowly, but surely, I am working through my stash!!
Since the last layout using this collection left me with a bunch of odd shaped patterned papers, I needed to come up with a design that still allowed me to use them...
That said, since this is a layout a of my mom...she reminds me of home and quilts remind me of home....now, let me say...she does not make quilts, nor do I...but it made since in my head.
I cut strips of the papers and cut in to 2" squares, then triangles and laid them across my page...this took a long time, but totally worth it!

I was even able to incorporate some of the matching brads which I was thankful for...I just don't think of using brads much anymore which is sad, but they are kind of a pain to attach, right?

I used some puffy hearts from Freckled Fawn and some flair from A flair for Buttons.
And since, I have enjoyed flipping through my new, (sort of) Paige Evans sticker book, I have been using on my past several layout!  flowers..hearts...phrase stickers...love it all! I even used the small alpha stickers to complete my title.

I know, I know, the title isn't too original, but that's what the story was about...and I was happy to finalize use of the last stickers I had from the Crate Paper sticker sheet...it matches so perfectly!
To finish the "quilt" look, I stitched all throughout the pieces.  I love the way it turned out!
Lastly, I finished the layout with some sequins scattered about the page and some Heidi Swapp color shine and Shimmerz...love me some splatters!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I hope you enjoyed the pictures and were inspired to "quilt" your own background!  you can see my whole process at my YouTube channel linked below..

"Grateful Moments" scrapbook layout

Hi, crafty friends...I am back with another layout using my older supplies!! Yay for me!  I am proud of the progress I have made with my 2018  stash challenge!
This layout is for a picture of the gifts my husband and daughter gave me for Mothers Day in 2017 and I am using the Dear Lizzy 5th and Frolic collection.  I started out with diagonal strips of paper, but with the embellishments, it seemed to busy.  Therefore, I took those strips and cut them down in to banners to layer behind the main cluster on my page.

I used a flair from A flair for buttons and some embellishments from Maggie Holmes and Bella Blvd.

I fussy cut out some of the flower clusters from one of the patterned papers to layer in and added some of the matching wood buttons and brads from the dear lizzy collection.

My title "Grateful Moments" consists of pink puffy letter stickers from Heidi Swapp and the "moments" is from a Maggie Holmes sticker sheet.

I hope you enjoyed the pictures and you found some inspiration in my layout!  You can check out my whole process on my YouTube channel linked below....
Thanks so much for stopping by!

"I adore you" card

Hi, crafty friends!
I am back to share a card that I created for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog.
The challenge is to create a project with the phrase "It Must Be Love" in mind and featuring Simon Says Stamp products which isn't a problem for me at all!  I have quite a bit of their products because I love their unique style and reasonable pricing.  My card below features one of their heart dies that I cut from white cardstock and white fun foam.
With the fun foam, and applying the actual die cut from white cardstock, the hearts create little shaker hearts that I inserted little bits and sparkly things.  I love the way it looks...I used sequins and bits from Pretty Pink Posh and a couple of bits from Michaels.
I kept the negative white cardstock portion created when I cut the hearts the first time to create the remainder of the top of the card.

I stamped and embossed the sentiment from an Altenew stamp set with Archival black ink and sparkly clear embossing powder. I finished the card off with clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh .

I am so pleased with the way it turned out and hope you like it as well.
maybe you will be inspired to create heart shaker pickets on your next card!
If you have any questions or comments, I'd love to hear them.
Thanks so much for stopping by.

"Picture Perfect" Scrapbook layout

Hi, crafty friends!  I wanted to share my latest layout with you...I have digging in to my stash and discovered this fairly old collection from Authentique.  I have always loved their papers...they have a texture to them that no other paper line has...I  really love the aged look to them and their embellishments.  This particular collection has nods to reading and thought it was perfect for the picture of my little girl enjoying her book laid out on the floor.
I started by adding gesso to the creamy-yellow paper and while that dried, I started backing all of the pin wheel looking shapes to my white cut file.  The cut file is from The Cut Shoppe.

I added some pretty sequins to all of the centers of the pin wheels in addition to some circle embellishments.

The title acrylic piece "Picture Perfect" is from Freckled Fawn and it matches so well.

I added some puffy stickers from random collections from Hip Kit Club and American Crafts to create texture.

I really hope you enjoyed these pictures and found some inspiration of your own!

"Snow day" scrapbook page

"Snow Day" 12 x 12 scrapbook page

Hi, crafty friends.  I have another snowy scrapbook page to share with you featuring Pretty Little Studio Winter Joy collection.  I absolutely love this collection and after the past couple of layouts, I still have enough left for one or more projects!
I started with a sheet of white cardstock from American crafts and added some gesso so it would hold up when I added my mixed media.  I used a mix of Shimmerz sprays, gelatos, and my Kuretake watercolors to get the exact colors to match this collection...the blue-purple was a challenge, but Kuretake palette has a perfect color as does Shimmerz called Blue jeans.
To create the hearts, I used my heart die set from Kat Scrappiness which includes (5) stacked hearts with faux stitching around the edge and I love them!!
All of the hearts were cut from PLS patterned papers and the three hearts with blue stars are actually from the card in the packaging from the embellishments.  Their packaging always has cute patterns and I keep them all because you can use those cards for layering and creating your embellishments! Don't throw anything away!

The white die cut with "Reindeer are better than people" are from a The Cut Shoppe cut file which I backed with a piece of vellum.  I colored vellum with a gelato to make sure it stood out.
The "magic" flair button is from Cuts2luv on Etsy.  She has such beautiful and unique flair buttons.
I created two different size shaker pockets with the same heart die and a piece of the reindeer transparency.  I backed them with vellum and stitched them closed after stuffing them with sequins from Pretty Pink Posh and others from Michaels.

I cut some hearts in just vellum to layer on the page and love the little bit of texture they add.

I also included a couple of snowflakes and die cuts from PLS in the shaker pockets as well.

My photo was also cut with the largest die from Kat Scrappiness.
Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you found some inspiration from this layout!
If you have any questions about the products I used or the details in this layout, please leave me a comment and I will get back to you right away.

"Hello Elf" scrapbook page

Hi, Crafty friends....Thanks for stopping by.
I have another 12 x 12 scrapbook page to share with you.
I am working with Pretty Little Studio's Winter Joy collection primarily with a few other bits mixed in and I love the colors and embellishments included!! If you aren't familiar with PLS, their papers are only 8x8, so you have to come up with creative ways to add their patterned paper and since I had a few of their beautiful transparencies....I decided shaker pockets was the way to go!!
I backed my shaker pockets to vellum and sewed them closed with my sewing machine and I didn't want to sew to the background as I wasn't sure how I was going to lay them on the page...I stuffed my shaker pockets with lots of sequins from Pretty Pink Posh, Simon Says Stamp, and Dancing Quinn on Etsy.  I love all of the colors and sparkle!!
I backed my photo with the two cards included in the packaging from PLS embellishments, patterned paper and the tree vellum sheet.
I used the word die cuts from the embellishment packs to stack down the right side of the photo and layered underneath each word small die cuts...

I created a small embellishment cluster to the top left of the page including matching die cuts and banners from the cut apart sheet.  I also used some gold puffy stickers from Freckled Fawn to add some dimension.

I really hope you enjoyed the pictures of my latest project and you found some inspiration! and maybe you will be inspired to create your own large shaker pocket on your next project!
You can check out my YouTube video to see the whole process linked below!
Thanks! Have a crafty day!!

Places To Go 12x12 scrapbook layout

Hi, crafty friends...Thanks so much for stopping by for another project!  This is another wintery layout of my little girl and her friend ice skating....we have an indoor rink nearby which is nice so we can skate and not freeze too...don't get me wrong, there is something so nostalgic about skating outside surrounding by decorations and lights in December....but it is cold! plus the indoor rink is so much less crowded.
I used the Fancy Pants Timbergrove collection from a few years back and the colors from the photo work great for this collection.
I started with a little mixed media with my Shimmerz products on the background as well a cut file from the Silhouette store that I also colored the "Gosh Garnet" from Shimmerz...this is one of my favorite paints...it is such a pretty pinkish red and the gold shimmer in it is beautiful! love it....
I had a tough time with my title..but in the spirit of using my stash, I pulled out the "to go" thickers that I have had for a very long time...because what kind of title includes "to go"...??
therefore, "Places to go" was born...obviously, we aren't going anywhere, but they are on the move so I thought it was somewhat appropriate.  What do you think?  any suggestions...?
for a title with "to go" in it or for ice skating...? I'd love to hear them.

I really hope you find some inspiration from this layout and if you would like to see the whole process, check out the link to my YouTube video below.  Thanks again for your support.
